Kathleen D. Murphy

I grew up in our SFX from kindergarten until I left for college. I returned to the area in 2009 but because our parents remained in the parish my siblings & I have all remained part of the parish in our own ways. That in itself is special!

Through SFX I have experienced AWE and have explored MY life founded on that awe. It is awesome to me that for over 60 years, SFX has provided our family, among so many families, the community to anchor our relationship with each other and with a common spiritual base.

As a child, I learned about our awesome God and I continue to be awed by His creation and the universe around us. I am in awe that, at every Mass, people who trust each other come together in communion. It has been awesome to share the Words of the Old & New Testaments to my fellows at services.  But the most awe I have experienced in my life is that which fills me as Eucharistic Minister. It has brought me closer to God, to this community, to the miracle of transubstantiation, and to the realization of how our Eucharist transforms our relationship with God. For me, I am able to powerfully experience awe in all of creation and life to a magnitude I may not have known if it were not for over 60 years expanding my faith at SFX.
