54 Years of memories?  My children’s Baptisms, Communions, Confirmations, Graduations and Weddings.  However, one of my favorite is participating with my fellow Parishioners in the SFX Theatre Group.  We did 2 shows every year.  One dramatic play in the Fall and a book musical/musical variety show in the Spring.  Always seemed to be during Lent.

The musical created great camaraderie.  Not only did we have performers of every age but we had a great crew of people creating costumes, doing lighting and other backstage work.  The ladies at their sewing machines; creating among others, military uniforms, lobster and sheep costumes. The productions would not have been complete without the tireless work of Ruth Knapp Praser and Rosemary & David Sherman.  Rosemary actually made the stage curtains!

Who can forget seeing a bearded sailor in a grass skirt and coconut shells dancing to Honey Bun (South Pacific), couples dancing the Jitterbug to 40’s music or our priest’s participation.  In one show Father James Kill entered the stage in a baby buggy while Father Richard Dodaro conducted the band.  One year an Associate Pastor (Father Bill Tkachuk) joined us for a production of “Tales of Wonder”.

In closing, as Bob Hope would sing “Thanks for the Memory”!
