Congratulations on your engagement! This is an exciting time for you, filled with love, the challenges of being in a deepening relationship, and the task list of planning the wedding ceremony. May this also be a happy time – a time of richer dialogue, greater trust and fuller sharing of the deepest and most personal values. More than simply planning for your wedding day, let this be a time of preparation for your marriage.
Toward that end, you will need to attend a program called Prepare/Enrich which is offered by volunteers from St. Francis or Pre Cana – a marriage preparation seminar hosted by the Archdiocese of Chicago. Please see our Wedding Booklet below for information regarding both of these programs.
We are happy to review possible dates with the bride and groom. You are asked to schedule the church before you sign a contract with a reception venue, just in case the church is not available on the date you are requesting. Please contact Maureen Pipal at the rectory office (708-352-0168) to schedule your wedding. We ask that you are a registered parishioner for 6 months before scheduling your wedding. However, non-members of the parish may celebrate their weddings at St. Francis Xavier if your date is within the next 9 months and you provide your own presider.
Saturday weddings are scheduled at 1:00, 3:00 and 6:30 p.m. Some Fridays and Sundays are also available, but these days and times are limited. Rehearsals are usually scheduled on Friday evenings. Also, we do not schedule weddings during the season of Lent.
