“Come One, Come All to the SFX Family Communion Breakfast”

One of my fondest memories of my family blessed life at SFX is the Family Communion breakfasts.  There was a communion breakfast for men, and one for women, but none for families.  The family communion breakfast evolved from my comment to Msg. O’Brien and his invitation to “go for it”.  We solicited the grills from ComEd, the milk from our dairy vendor, the pancake mix from Quaker Oats, the syrup from Corn Products, the electrician trade from parishioners, etc., until we had enough to feed pancakes and sausages to the whole parish, after all masses.  The breakfast was served by our eager and precious school kids all for the price that Jesus fed the crowd.  In addition, some of those kids, now seniors, still hold dear their first memory of boysenberry syrup.
