Confirmation

Confirmation is the final initiation sacrament and the bridge into our Youth Ministry Program. At St. Francis Xavier Parish, teens prepare for the sacrament in 7th Grade and 8th Grade and receive the sacrament in the Fall of their Freshman Year.

Teens in our 2 year prep program (7th and 8th Grade) are asked to participate in the following:

• Rite of Enrollment into the Confirmation Class in the Winter of 7th Grade
• Sunday Mass (on a regular basis) 5PM Sunday Teen Mass highly recommended in 7th and 8th Grade
• Participation in Ministries during Mass (5PM Sunday Teen Mass)
• Service Opportunities (with their peers, sponsor, and family) in 7th and 8th Grade
• Choosing a Confirmation Sponsor in 8th Grade
• Choosing a Confirmation Name in 8th Grade
• Confirmation Retreat a few weeks before Confirmation in the Fall of Freshman Year

If you have a high school age teen who has not completed 7th or 8th grade in the SFX Religious Education Program or at another parish RE Program please contact the office so we can discuss further options.
