Summer Construction Set to Begin on June 11

For the past two years, our parish has been blessed with the generosity of so many parish families who contributed to the 125th Anniversary Capital Campaign.  Your campaign contributions made possible the major campus improvements to Joyce Hall and the gym (2016) and the creation of Unity Hall (2017). And 2018 will see this generosity revealed yet again.  The success of the campaign allows us to continue our investment in our campus.  We are SO excited to announce this summer’s improvements made possible through the capital campaign!

First, our OUTDOOR campus will have a WHOLE new look between the church and school!  The old standalone garage will be torn down.  Brick pavers, lampposts, and landscaping with trees and benches will be added to the area in front of God’s Garage, leading up to the west transept entrance.  The dumpster and garage will be relocated.  The lot will be re-striped to incorporate accessible parking spots near our entrance to Unity Hall.  Anticipated cost:  $275,000.

As part of this project, we will be raising funds to cover the cost of the new courtyard look through the sale of engraved brick pavers.  Please CLICK HERE for additional information!

Second, the gym foyer and gym restrooms will be gutted and renovated for accessibility.  We are creating a viewing area inside the foyer for accessible viewing of athletic events.  Anticipated cost:  $375,000.

The removal of the old garage and addition of benches will provide easier access to our new ramp and interior lift for those with accessibility needs.  The old garage and existing dumpster are on their last legs and need major renovation. Better lighting is needed for those who arrive for events after dark.  Our Buildings and Grounds Committee and Finance Council have assessed the capital needs of the campus, and Fr. Bill Tkachuk agrees that the outdoor improvements are vital to ensure that the campus is a welcoming beacon for all who come here for worship and unity!

WE STILL NEED YOUR SUPPORT!  Please pray for the safety and success of our summer projects!  And we still welcome financial contributions to the campaign, particularly in light of the added scope of the outdoor renovations (which were not within the original scope of the campaign).  If you would like to pledge to the capital campaign, or increase your current pledge, please click here for a pledge form, or feel free to email me.

On behalf of the Capital Campaign Steering Committee and Fr. Bill Tkachuk, a heartfelt thank you for all your support during these past years!  Do not hesitate to contact me by calling the rectory at 708-352-0168 or email me if you have any questions!  Go with God this summer!
