THE 120: THE FLAMES COUNCIL

Hearts On Fire, Lives On Mission

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.” 1 Timothy 4: 12-16.

High school teenagers: If you have been wanting a way to become more involved in The 120 and find ways to become more involved in ministry The Flames Council is for you!

The Flames Council is a dedicated leadership team of teens who are ready to take the next step in their faith journey by serving our church, leading their peers, and growing closer to Christ. The Flames Council is not just about planning events or holding titles. It is a mission of the heart — a call to be bold witnesses for Christ, rooted in prayer and grounded in love. This council exists to ignite the flame of faith in others through authentic leadership, community, intentional outreach, and joyful service.

Each role in the council is built on three foundations:

  1. Prayer – We center everything in conversation with God and seek to grow in our personal and communal prayer life.
  2. Presence – We lead by showing up — for "Chill and Chat" hours, for Sunday events, and most importantly, for the people around us.
  3. Purpose – We serve with intention. We don’t lead for attention or status, but because God has placed something in our hearts that we want to share.

If you are a a high school teen who:

  • Desires a deeper relationship with Jesus,
  • Wants to grow in leadership and discipleship,
  • Feels called to serve others in your church and community,
    — then we invite you to prayerfully consider applying.

We’re not looking for perfection. We’re looking for passion, commitment, and a heart willing to say "yes" to God's call. God does not call the equipped, He equips the called.

As part of this council, you will have the chance to lead in prayer, help shape youth events, welcome new faces, and build friendships that are rooted in Christ. Most importantly, you’ll be forming a team that supports one another in living boldly for the faith. Take a look at the roles below, pray about where God may be calling you, and fill out the application with courage and honesty. Let’s set our hearts on fire for Him.
